My name is Yoko Winther, business consultant, who connects international companies with Japanese companies and customers.
I have a long experience
building business and cultural bridges between European / American companies and Japanese companies.
I worked as account executive at an American advertising agency called J. Walter Thompson, in Tokyo, for developing American products in Japanese market, and as a marketing and PR officer at an internatilnal NGO called Peace Winds Japan for raising funds by communicating international humanitarian projects to Japanese audience.
After moving to Denmark in 2003, I have worked for various European companies with business relationship with Japanese companies as consultant and interpreter.


My strength is to function as cultural bridge between European and Japanese clients/companies, and also brings European products to Japanese market.
I have seen that trust establishment and mutual understanding are the key factors for a success in business with Japanese companies, as Japanese business manner is quite different from European one.
With excellent interpretation ability as well as profound understanding to both European and Japanese business culture, I will be your trustworthy liaison, which brings successful business relationship with your Japanese clients.

I also work as authorized tourist guide in Copenhagen, Denmark with degree from Roskilde University, as fixer for Japanese TV program production teams and journalists shooting and interviewing in Denmark and Europe, and as teacher of Japanese language and business culture for both adults and children at schools.

Let us take a good example, our great client, Taster Wine. I managed to tie a business contract between Taster Wine, the biggest wine and liquor distributer in Denmark, and Seiyu, one of the biggest supermarket chain in Japan with approximately 300 retail stores all over Japan. I conducted a thorough research on Japanese potential clients, contacting them, negotiating for a contract which both parties feel win-win and appreciated, supporting inspections and logistics, and reaching to end-users in Japan.

Taster Wine actually tried to go into Japanese market several times using someone else before contacting me but never suceeded. But with our assistance, it has finally become a reality to establich trustworthy, stable and long-term relationship with one of the biggest supermarket chains in Japan.
